US D1 orders: estimated duty and when you pay
WeatherXM D1 ships globally from our European warehouse in the Netherlands via DHL Express (DAP). D1 orders shipped to the US may incur import duty, collected by the carrier before delivery. Budget for an estimated 37.5% duty, plus variable carrier/customs fees. This estimate is not included in your checkout total. The applicable rate and tariff components must be confirmed from the customs entry; they can change.

2 · Buying as a Company / Business
Do companies get VAT back or deduct the import tax?
EU / UK VAT-registered businessesVAT treatment depends on your destination, eligibility and invoice. Qualifying intra-EU business purchases may be zero-rated; VAT recovery is subject to local rules. A company VAT number alone does not guarantee zero VAT. UK import VAT is separate. Ask your accountant.
US businessesThe US has no VAT. Import duty is not a VAT credit or an automatic refund. Eligible business purchase costs may be deductible or depreciable; a deduction reduces taxable income, not the bill dollar-for-dollar. Ask your accountant.
3 · $0 US Duty Alternative
Want $0 US import tax? WeatherXM H2 ships from our US warehouse
Unlike D1 (which ships from the Netherlands), WeatherXM H2 (LoRaWAN) is stocked directly in our US warehouse and ships to US addresses with $0 customs duty and free shipping ($189 Network Edition / $239 Open Edition). H2 Open Edition works with The Things Network (TTN) or a compatible private LoRaWAN gateway; Network Edition uses Helium IoT. Neither uses Wi-Fi at the station.
Zoom to your installation site. TTN Mapper shows measured coverage, not a guarantee: missing measurements do not prove there is no coverage. Check active gateways, terrain, regional frequency and TTN fair-use limits; test on site if unsure. No local TTN gateway? You can install your own compatible gateway with internet backhaul. Open Edition on TTN does not earn WeatherXM rewards.
